Mobile TV Chipmaker Telegent Systems Lands $20 Million

Sunnyvale, Calif. - Telegent Systems, a developer of mobile TV chips used in cell phones and portable media devices, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $20 million in its third round of venture capital financing, led by Northern Light Venture Capital.

All of the company's previous investors also participated in the round, which brings the total outside investment in the company to $50 million.

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Telegent, which also operates a subsidiary in China, develops single-chip mobile TV solutions that deliver free-to-air and pay-per-view mobile TV.

The company will use the proceeds to expand its product line and grow its international sales presence.
