Palo Alto, Calif. - Video-sharing site Metacafe announced on Tuesday that it has raised $30 million in its third round of funding, led by new investors Highland Capital Partners and DAG Ventures.

Existing investors Accel Partners and Benchmark Capital also participated.

The four-year-old, Palo Alto, Calif.-based company attracted over 25 million unique viewers in June, according to comScore.

The company also said co-founder Arik Czerniak will step away from day-to-day operations to pursue other entrepreneurial endeavors, but remain on the board; Czerniak stepped down as CEO in February.

The funds will be used to support the company's continued global growth, including expanding the breadth and depth of its content from both users and established media companies.
