Social Network for Mothers CafeMom Secures $5 Million

New York - CafeMom, a social network for mothers owned by CMI Marketing -- a company co-founded by actor Andrew Shue -- has raised $5 million in new financing from Highland Capital Partners and Draper Fisher Jurvetson.

Launched in November 2006, New York-based CafeMom claimed 1.7 million unique visitors in July, and 65 million pageviews.

The social network offers advertisers including Playskool, Disney, HP, Kraft and General Mills the opportunity to sponsor customized widgets, profile pages, custom groups and influencer campaigns.
