San Diego - DivX, a developer of video compression and distribution technologies, announced on Thursday that it has acquired the assets of Veatros, a provider of real-time digital video processing that was spun out of the University of Kansas' Information and Telecommunication Technology Center.
Terms of the deal call for a purchase price of up to $4.25 million, which includes $2 million in cash and up to $2.25 million in addition payments based on technology-related milestones.
San Diego-based DivX said it will use Veatros' technology to produce enhanced video search and discovery services.
