Boca Raton, Fla. - Hollywood Media Corp., a provider of news, information and ticketing for the entertainment industry, announced on Monday that it has sold its Source movie showtimes data business to West World Media for $23 million.

Connecticut-based West World is controlled by Brett West, who founded the Source business in 1995 and sold it to Hollywood Media in 1999.

As part of the deal, the companies entered into a multi-year data-sharing agreement to continue providing each other with carious data and content items.

"We've accomplished the sale of our Source Business in the course of our previously announced process to assess and pursue strategic options for the benefit of our shareholders. We continue to consider additional potential opportunities," said Hollywood Media CEO Mitchell Rubenstein.

Florida-based Hollywood Media also operates ticketing businesses Broadway.com and Theatre.com, and holds a minority stake in MovieTickets.com; and operates Hollywood.com Television, a free cable TV video-on-demand network.
