New York - The creators of the animated series "South Park" on Viacom's Comedy Central cable network have secured a deal with the company to launch a joint venture that will incubate original material, including video games, across the Internet and mobile platforms, The New York Times reported.

Worth a reported $75 million over four years for Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the deal includes a 50-50 split of ad revenue generated from the new digital animation studio venture and accompanying website at SouthParkStudios.com.

"South Park" remains Comedy Central's highest-rated program, and has generated hundreds of millions of dollars in DVD sales and a record $100 million in 2003 from the sale of broadcast syndication rights.

"Anything we get out of [the joint venture] is icing on the cake," MTV Networks Entertainment president Doug Herzog told The Times.
