Sunnyvale, Calif. - Yahoo on Monday released a new version of its popular web mail service, Yahoo Mail, which for the first time allows users to send free text messages to mobile phones, as well as send instant messages to users of Yahoo Messenger and Windows Live Messenger2. The version also includes speed and performance enhancements, as well as other small refinements. Yahoo said that it will continue to offer its "classic" e-mail service, as well.
