Palo Alto, Calif. - Jaxtr, a provider of Internet phone services for social networks and blogs, said on Tuesday that it has raised $10 million in its first round of funding, led by August Capital.
Mayfield Fund, Draper Richards, Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Mangrove Capital also participated. The latter three also were early investors in Skype.
Palo Alto, Calif.-based Jaxtr, which launched its public beta in March, said that its registered user base has doubled to more than 1 million over the past month.
From the company's website, users can click to add a jaxtr widget to their social networking pages on MySpace and Facebook. People visiting the profiles can then click on the widget and initiate a phone call.
