Celebrity Voicemail Service SayNow Raises $7.5 Million

Palo Alto, Calif. - SayNow, the developer of a service that allows entertainers, politicians and community leaders to connect with fans via personalized voicemail and text messages, has secured $7.5 million in its first round of venture capital financing, led by Shasta Ventures, TechCrunch reported.

Dave Whorton of Tugboat Ventures, and Costella Kirsch also participated.

Palo Alto, Calif.-based SayNow's service lets fans send voice and text messages to celebrities, and in turn the celebrities can send messages en masse to their fans.

Customers of the technology include labels Universal Music Group, EMI, Zomba Label Group and RCA, and artists such as Foo Fighters, Tila Tequila and Kenny Chesney.
