Berlin - The Blu-ray Disc Association said on Thursday that Taiwan-based PC and consumer electronics maker Acer has joined its ranks. The company also makes laptops equipped with Toshiba's rival HD DVD technology. Acer is one of the top three PC brands in the world, and the number one notebook brand in Europe. "With increasing demand and expectation for richer media content, Acer is adding Blu-ray Disc technology into our notebooks and enabling users to experience high-definition content, playback and storage," said Campbell Kan, vice president of Acer's mobile computing business unit.
