National Datacast, Inc. is an established, industry leading provider of nationwide multimedia content and information distribution solutions.  At this point in the company’s life, it is positioned to expand into related value-added products and services and new lines of business, beyond its traditional wireless data broadcasting focus.  This is an exciting time at National Datacast (NDI) for a top-performing sales professional.

The Senior Director of Sales has primary responsibility for achieving the company’s sales -- creating and implementing a strategy that results in new customers and revenue.  Compensation includes incentives for achieving sales targets.  National Datacast, a commercial subsidiary of the Public Broadcasting Service, is an entrepreneurially managed company and this position is ideal for a self starter that enjoys ownership of the full sales process and requires minimal sales support.  This is a key, senior level position with broad exposure in the company.

The position is based in NDI’s architectural award winning offices and network operations center in the Washington, DC area, located at Crystal City in Arlington, VA (across from Reagan National Airport), and reports to NDI’s Chief Operating Officer and General Manager.   Frequent U.S. travel for sales development should be expected.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Achieve sales
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet new revenue targets and maximize sales growth
  • Maintain account relationships
  • Be a key contributor to the company’s profitability
  • Maintain knowledge of the marketplace’s interests, industry developments and related technology
  • Recommend enhanced/new products and services to be offered by company
  • Present and defend sales development progress to company’s management and directors


Requirements:

  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree and 7 – 15 years of related sales experience
  • Confirmable accomplishments in sales of products and/or services in markets such as or related to:  multimedia content distribution, information services, digital signage, health care industry information services, e-commerce, entertainment services, internet services, consumer electronics devices, wireless services and homeland security/first responder services
  • Must be a sales closer
  • Understanding of market and industry trends in several of the above areas
  • Consultative/solutions and new technology/new media sales experience
  • Experience achieving sales in an incentive compensation structure
  • Sophisticated in business matters
  • Negotiating skills
  • Works effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Organized, meets deadlines, can work under pressure
  • Communicates effectively with prospective customers at all levels in a company (from product design engineers to CEOs)
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Self starter and finisher that can function in a small company, entrepreneurial environment without large company sales support
  • Energetic, creative, idea generator
