New Britney Spears Song Officially Leaked, Album out Nov 13

It's Britney, BitchYesterday we reported that two new songs by Britney Spears had been leaked following air time on New York radio station Z100.  It turns out only one was authentic.  As a reader wrote about Gimme More, the supposed “official” single, “The same line over and over: ‘Gimmee, Gimme, Gimmee.’ How redundantly boring?  That could have been anyone on that track.”  Maybe you’re right, my friend.  But a Jive Records spokesperson said, “The track that leaked is off of Britney Spears's forthcoming album. The song is ‘Gimme More,’ produced by Danja, (and is) written by Nathaniel ‘Danjahands’ Hills, James Washington, Keri Hilson, Marcella Araica.” Who knew so many cooks were needed to create song?  Guess you have to make it crazy-proof, so God bless 'em! You can listen to the song here.

Personally, I was sold on the song’s authenticity after the first line.  “It’s Britney, bitch,” she says.  Yes, it is.  And because that voice and message scared me, I knew it was the real thing.

It’s been a busy week for Spears as rumors about an MTV Music Awards surprise appearance and the release of a new album have been in full swing.  It turns out the latter is now verified, and the date, according to People Magazine anyway, is November 13th.  Mark your calendars!  Or not, whatever.  It’s Britney, bitch.

Also reported this week, Ne-Yo, the singer/songwriter, told Ryan Seacrest on his morning radio show, “She’s gotta remind people why they love her in the first place. She's gotta get their minds off her personal life and back on the music.”  Ne-Yo supposedly wrote several songs for Spears.

And you’ve no doubt been hammered over the head with Rihanna’s “Umbrella?”  Turns out Britney had first crack at it, which has arguably been the summer’s hottest song: “My umbrella-ella-ella-eh-eh-eh.”  Yeah, you know the one.  Spears turned the song down, reports indicate.

With good reason, though, I say.  You can’t destroy a stranger’s ride with an umbrella then hope to capitalize on the act with a song about umbrellas.  It just doesn’t make sense!
