San Francisco - Google has begun publishing full stories from news agencies such as the Associated Press, Agence France-Presse, Canadian Press and Britain's Press Association on its Google News aggregation service, Reuters reported.

To this point, Google News had featured only snippets of stories from the agencies, but will now host full articles on co-branded pages.

The Associated Press and the other providers -- which do not attempt to draw readers to their own sites -- licensed their content directly to Google News, which had previously linked to wire stories on the sites of newspapers and other outlets that also subscribe to the services.

Google said the move will help cut down on redundant links to identical stories from multiple sources on Google News, and also give more relevance in searches to the original source of a story.

Google may also eventually run ads alongside the newly licensed articles, Google News business product manager Josh Cohen told Reuters.
