Austin, Texas - Media Excel, a developer of transcoding technologies for mobile TV, IPTV and Web TV platforms, said on Tuesday that financier Red McCombs, a co-founder of Clear Channel Communications, has increased his investment in the company.

Financial terms of the arrangement were not disclosed.

McCombs also sits on the board of Austin-based Media Excel, which was founded in 2000.

"We believe that digital video will be a key contributor to the growth of the Broadcasting, Web and Telecommunications industries and Media Excel has the right set of technologies, management team and market positioning to win," said McCombs.
