Thomson Acquires Content Delivery Network SyncCast

Paris - Thomson, a developer of digital video technologies for the media and entertainment sectors, announced on Tuesday that it has acquired SyncCast, a provider of content delivery network services for digital media.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1999, Anaheim, Calif.-based SyncCast provides its services to customers including Microsoft's Xbox Live Video Marketplace, the Motion Picture Association of America and National Geographic.

Thomson said SyncCast's client portfolio will bolster its Technicolor services division.
