Facebook to Enable Member Profile Searches via Google, Yahoo

Palo Alto, Calif. - The Facebook online social network on Wednesday announced that it will make limited public search listings of its member profiles available to people who are not logged in to Facebook, and eventually allow them to be found by search engines like Google, MSN Live and Yahoo. Facebook users will be able to completely opt out of the feature, depending on their individual privacy settings on the site. The public searches will reveal a member's name and default profile picture thumbnail.
