Bedford, Mass. - Groove Mobile, a provider of mobile music services, announced on Wednesday that it has raised an additional $6 million in funding from ORIX Venture Finance.

Since launching its service in 2004, Groove Mobile said it has completed 35 million transactions, many of which consist of full-track song downloads to mobile phones, and in July alone enabled nearly three million downloads.

The company powers mobile music services for mobile carriers including 3 UK, Vodafone and Sprint.

"With this additional funding from ORIX, we will continue to expand our services and seek out new opportunities for wireless carriers and record labels to provide the latest mobile entertainment solutions to consumers," said Eric Giler, Groove Mobile chairman and CEO.

The Bedford, Mass.-based company has to date raised a total of $32 million.
