Bloomington, Ind. - AuthorHouse, a provider of Web-based self-publishing tools for authors owned by private equity firm Bertram Capital Management, announced this week and it has acquired Lincoln, Nebr.-based iUniverse, another provider of self-publishing services.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 1999, iUniverse has sold over 5 million books from more than 5,000 authors.

Bloomington, Ind.-based AuthorHouse has produced more than 40,000 titles from nearly 30,000 authors.
