Ad Agency WPP Digital Acquires Interactive Design Firm Schematic

London - WPP Digital, a U.K.-based provider of online advertising services, announced on Monday that it has acquired Schematic, a Los Angeles-based interactive design company, for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 1999, Schematic employs 225 people worldwide, and has developed projects for the Web, interactive TV, mobile devices and digital environments for clients including Coca-Cola, CondeNast, Disney, NBC Universal and Time Warner.

The company's revenues for its past fiscal year were $29.6 million.

WPP said the purchase continues its strategy of developing its networks in fast growing markets and sectors and strengthening its capabilities in digital media.

The agency also recently acquired online ad network 24/7 Real Media, and digital ad agency Refinery.
