New York - VoodooVox, the developer of a service that inserts ad-supported audio content into the call stream of high-call volume companies, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $8.1 million in its fourth round of venture capital financing, led by Softbank Capital.
Previous investors Apax Partners, Disney's Steamboat Ventures and Village Ventures also participated.
New York-based VoodooVox's In-Call Media service is used by customers including Nokia, Microsoft, Showtime, Virgin Mobile and Univision.
The company plans to expand into other voice applications, including mobile, call centers and audio-based Web widgets.
