News Corp.: No Plans to Pull Fox TV Shows From iTunes

Warsaw - News Corporation has no plans to pull its TV programming from Apple's iTunes Store, unlike fellow producer NBC Universal, which recently did so after negotiations with Apple over pricing and other issues stalled, Reuters reported.

"Right now we have a perfectly good relationship with Apple," News Corp. president and COO Peter Chernin told Reuters while traveling in Poland.

"But let me say this, we're the ones who should determine what the fair price for our product is, not Apple."

News Corporation and NBC Universal are set to launch an ad-supported video joint venture for their TV shows, movies and other content, and some had speculated that NBCU's decision to shun iTunes had something to do with the impending launch of Hulu.

Chernin told Reuters he saw a difference between the ad-supported Hulu service and the paid downloads on iTunes, and that News Corp. currently doesn't plan to follow its Hulu partner's lead.
