Reston, Va. - Avail Media, a provider of Internet television and other media services to broadband operators, said on Wednesday that it has acquired ViewNow, a California-based supplier of video-on-demand programming.

The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, includes ViewNow's customer base and agreements with studios such as Buena Vista/Disney, Dream Works, Lions Gate Films, NBC/Universal, New Line Cinema, Paramount, 20th Century Fox and Warner Bros.

The deal comes fourth months after Avail raised $17 million in its second round of venture capital funding, co-led by Novak Biddle Venture Partners and Columbia Capital.
