Chinese Web Video Firm PPLive Raises $10 Million

Shanghai - PPLive, a provider of peer-to-peer-based, Web video distribution services and unit of China's Synacast Media, has raised an estimated $10 to $15 million in its third round of venture capital financing, led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Dragon Venture, RedlineChina reported.

Founded in 2005, PPLive.com provides live video feeds and other Web video distribution services; last year, the company also licensed the movie "The Banquet" for distribution on its site.

Other PPLive backers include SoftBank and Nokia's BlueRun Ventures.
