Dallas - Idearc, a publisher of directory services including the Verizon Yellow Pages and Superpages.com, announced on Monday that it will acquire Switchboard.com and other online directory assets from InfoSpace for $225 million.

Dallas-based Idearc's Superpages.com claimed 21.3 million unique visitors in August, while InfoSpace's online directories counted 7.7 million unique visitors in the same period.

The company said the addition of Switchboard.com and InfoSpace's other directory assets will significantly increase the scale of its Superpages.com, and benefit Idearc advertisers, who will be seen by more consumers.
