GodTubeDallas, TX – According to comScore, a digital media intelligence provider, the fastest growing website in August was GodTube.com, a faith-based video site.  GodTube had 1.7 million unique visitors in the US in August, and the site launched August 8th.

"The fact that GodTube.com, a faith-based website, has been named the #1 fastest growing website, surpassing all mainstream secular websites, marks a major milestone," said Chris Wyatt, CEO and Founder. "GodTube.com's success is proof positive that Jesus 2.0 is the wave of the future. Our entire culture is becoming internet focused. Today, people use the internet to search for practically everything they need in life -- Why not their faith?"

Among GodTube’s features is a virtual church community and over 800,000 hours of video, which is created, uploaded, and shared by its viewers in the same model as other user-generated content sites like YouTube.

As of today, little advertising aside from self-promotion and the promotion of sites like it, such as Premier.tv, is available on the site, and no announcements have been made regarding future plans.

The videos cover a range of topics.  Here’s a sampling of a young girl reciting Psalm 23.

Though the number of unique visitors in August is certainly an indication of the site’s draw, no numbers were provided regarding user account stats.  Like YouTube, visitors must register with GodTube to upload videos, and it remains unclear how many visitors have done so.

If the videos have been embedded using clips already on YouTube or other sites, in other words, the site’s popularity may be overstated.
