Interactive Digital Signage Firm LocaModa Gets $6.2 Million

Somerville, Mass. - LocaModa, a developer of mobile Web applications, has raised about $6.2 million in its first round of venture capital, according to its CEO, Stephen Randall.

Investors in the deal include Mahindra Group and Sumitomo Corp., through its Presidio STX subsidiary.

Founded in 2004, Somerville, Mass.-based LocaModa offers a platform for consumers in social or retail environments to use their phones to interact with digital signage. The company employs 12 people.
