New York - Firebrand, the developer of a consumer entertainment site for TV commercials, announced on Tuesday that it has received undisclosed investments from Microsoft, NBC Universal and GE's Peacock Equity Fund, and ION Television, and plans to launch its service on Oct. 22.

New York-based Firebrand says it will post "the 'coolest' TV commercials the way MTV used to program music videos," offering its advertising programming on TV, the Web and mobile devices.

The company will broadcast a weeknight program on the ION Television Network, which is available in 94 million households; its content will also be syndicated on USANetwork.com, AdWeek.com and to mobile devices, initially through the iTunes Store.
