RealNetworks to Acquire Casual Game Community Firm Game Trust

Seattle - Digital entertainment services firm RealNetworks announced on Thursday that it will acquire Game Trust, a developer of casual online game infrastructure technology.

While the companies did not disclose financial terms of the deal, several outlets reported the purchase price to be around $20 million.

Founded in 2002, New York-based Game Trust offers social networking features, community, affinity and other advances features for online casual games.

RealNetworks will add Game Trust's community and commerce capabilities to the technology platform its offers its more than 200 casual game syndication partners.
