LeBron James, no stranger to comedy, will take his act to SNL this weekendFollowing a playoff run in which he led one of the least talented teams in basketball to the finals and a co-hosting appearance with Jimmy Kimmel at the ESPY’s, LeBron James will host this weekend’s season premiere of Saturday Night Live.  Comedy is a natural for the 22-year-old James, whose Nike ads Meet the LeBrons features four versions of the basketball star (watch one here).

"I'm going to just wing it," the All-Star forward said yesterday during rehearsal.

Lorne Michaels, SNL’s creator and executive producer, said that James’s ESPY’s performance convinced him he would be a natural for the show.  "You can tell when someone has a sense of humor or a least enough perspective on themselves to able to laugh at stuff," Michaels said.  "He's really good at this stuff."

James, who says he does not get nervous for big games, is working closely with SNL’s writers and actors to make sure his performance is as strong as possible.  "I want to make an impression," James said. "Just go out there and be original and have some fun."
