Las Vegas - TiVo on Monday announced the formation of a new Interactive Direct Response Advertising Group, which will support direct response advertisers looking to advertise on its digital video recorder platform. The company named Robert Barnett, formerly a senior marketing consultant to direct response marketer Guthy-Renker, to head the new unit. "As viewers increasingly embrace TiVo to record, time-shift and fast-forward their favorite television programs and commercials, the amount of time spent channel surfing has significantly diminished, directly impacting viewership numbers for infomercials and other direct response advertisements," said Karen Bressner, TiVo's senior vice president of ad sales.
