Britney Spears “Gimme More” Video Debuts on MTV

This might be the Outfit for Spears new Gimme More VideoGandhi.  Winston Churchill.  Britney Spears.  Three of the most influential people of the last 100 years?  Yes.  But the latter will get something next Monday that the first two could never claim: a new video on MTV, the network that has taken the “M” out of Music, debuting on TRL.  “Gimme More,” which recently rose to the #1 spot on iTunes and shortly after its release became the #1 iTunes ringtone as well, will be one of the most scrutinized videos the network has ever featured.

“Gimme More” also holds the #3 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

The photo above is rumored to be the costume Spears wears in the video.  It was shot in July by Flynet.

A lot’s changed for her since then, though calls for the end of her career following the “disastrous” MTV Video Music Awards seem greatly exaggerated.  She’s been, without a doubt, the most talked about person in the world – perhaps even trumping press-addict rival Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president – since the September 9th performance.

A representative for Jive Records, Spears’ label, told People Magazine: "Jive is enormously excited about Britney's new album. We're confident that it will secure her reputation as one of the great recording artists of her time."

The album will be released November 13.
