Buzz Watch: Danny Bonaduce's 'Fairplay Incident' Gives Fox Reality Channel a PR Boost

Here's a good example of the way YouTube provides a lot of free PR for a TV network: Have you ever heard of Fox Reality Channel Really Awards? Me neither, until the rumor got around that there's YouTube video of an incident at an upcoming awards show in which former child actor Danny Bonaduce gives former "Survivor" contestant Johnny Fairplay a face-plant, on stage, knocking his teeth out.

Indeed, it seems like the incident was unplanned. Fairplay hit the stage face first, lost a tooth, moved three more within his mouth, damaged the supporting bone, and broke a toe during the fall. Ouch. Fairplay has pressed charges again Bonaduce, but charge evaluation document released by the district attorney's office Friday said there was "insufficient evidence" to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Bonaduce committed battery because Fairplay "initiated contact and acted offensively."

Either way, no matter what you think of Fox, it might be a little too sleezy for them to promote an incident like this too much (since someone got hurt, although he might have deserved it). But with YouTube, they don't have to - someone just needs to float the tape and that's it. The awards, fight and all, are scheduled to air Oct. 13 on Fox Reality Channel. I have a feeling that Bonaduce will get an invitation to next years show as well.
