Electronic Arts Acquires PC Game Tools Firm Super Computer

Redwood City, Calif. - Video game developer and publisher Electronic Arts announced on Friday that it has acquired Atlanta-based Super Computer International (SCI), a provider of PC gaming client applications and software tools.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

SCI created PlayLinc, a PC game browsing and messaging platform that includes social networking tools like IM and VoIP, buddy tracking, player invitations and team management.

SCI CEO Jesper Jensen will continue to lead the company, which will become part of EA's online technology group.
