EA Taps BP to Include Climate Education in "SimCity Societies"Authored by Mark Hefflinger on October 10, 2007 - 1:01pm.
Redwood City, Calif. - Electronic Arts said on Wednesday that it has partnered with BP to include climate change educational material within "SimCity Societies," the next iteration of EA's city-building franchise that has sold more than 18 million units. Set for release on Nov. 15, the game will allow players to make choices on how to power their virtual cities -- providing the option to use low-carbon methods -- and feature a carbon ratings meter that will "issue alerts about the threat of the various natural disasters like droughts, heat waves and others that may strike their cities."
