Beverly Hills, Calif. - Lucy Hood, the president of Fox Mobile Entertainment and CEO of mobile content firm Jamba, resigned from the company on Wednesday to "pursue more entrepreneurial ventures."

The company said Jamba COO Lee Fenton will assume her duties until a new CEO is appointed.

Hood has been with News Corp. for more than a decade, helping launch Fox Mobile Entertainment in 2005 and overseeing the company's 2006 joint venture with VeriSign's Jamba (also known as Jamster).

"Lucy has been a key architect of News Corp.'s mobile strategy over the past few years and we're grateful for her many contributions to our business," said News Corp. president and COO Peter Chernin.
