Redmond, Wash. - Nintendo does not have any price cuts in the works for its $249 Wii console, which is expected to be in short supply during the holiday shopping season, Reuters reported.

"We'll stay at $249 for the foreseeable future. We are still selling everything we can make," George Harrison, senior vice president of marketing at Nintendo America, told Reuters.

Nintendo has projected that demand will outpace supply for the Wii worldwide during the upcoming holiday shopping season.

"We have been sold out worldwide since we launched," Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime recently told the San Jose Mercury News.

"We're working very hard to make sure that consumers are satisfied this holiday, but I can't guarantee that we're going to meet demand. As a matter of fact, I can tell you on the record we won't."
