New York - Embattled video game publisher Atari on Monday announced the appointment of Curtis G. Solsvig III as chief restructuring officer, and named four new independent directors to its board, replacing board members ousted last week by parent company Infogrames.

Solsvig is a managing director at AlixPartners, the firm retained by Atari to implement its restructuring plan.

The company's new independent directors are Wendell Adair, Eugene I. Davis, James B. Shein and Bradley E. Scher; Davis, the founder and chairman of consulting firm Pirinate Consulting Group, was also named non-executive chairman of Atari's board.

Atari reported a net loss of nearly $70 million in its last fiscal year.
