Oberon Media Acquires Two Eastern European Game Studios

Kiev, Ukraine - Oberon Media, a publisher of casual games for multiple platforms, announced on Wednesday that it has acquired two Eastern European studios, Russia-based Kenjitsu, and Ukraine-based Friends Games.

Financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

Kenjitsu is a game development outsourcing studio and part of developer Nikitova; Friends Games has developed titles including "Magic Match: The Genie's Journey."

Oberon said the deals will establish it a major hub for game development in Eastern Europe.

Olya Nikitova, co-founder of Kenjitsu and CEO of Nikitova Games, will join Oberon as VP of online publishing for Eastern Europe, while Taras Tarasov, founder and President of Friends Games, will join Oberon as director of Eastern European developer relations.
