Seattle - Treemo, the developer of a social media publishing platform, announced on Wednesday that it has raised $2.55 million in new funding from JK&B Capital.

Seattle-based Treemo operates a Web and mobile community whose users share various forms of digital media, and also offers its platform to mobile carriers and others.

The company, which launched in September 2006, will use the new funds for product development and marketing.

"This strategic investment validates our focus on pioneering new social media applications on our platform such as citizen journalism and building communities around emerging and established musicians and artists," said Treemo CEO Brent Brookler.
