Ottawa, Canada - Axentra, the developer of a home entertainment network server software platform, announced on Wednesday that it has raised $6 million in its first round of financing, led by T-Online Venture Fund.

Ottawa-based Axentra's HipServ is a file and media server solution that lets users manage their photos, music, home video, recorded TV and personal documents at home or on the road via remote access.

T-Online Venture Fund said the investment is part of an initiative to equip parent company Deutsche Telekom with technology that can be used to offer value-added services to mobile and broadband customers.
