Online Ad Technology Developer Linkstorm Lands $4.2 Million

New York - Linkstorm, a developer of online advertising technology, announced on Wednesday that it has raised $4.2 million in its third round of venture capital financing, from individual angel investors.

The more than 85 investors in the round included former Network Solutions CEO Jim Rutt, and former Ziff-Davis president of interactive media Jeff Ballowe.

Founded in 2000, Linkstorm has developed a "next-generation Internet navigation and linking system that significantly increases user engagement and enhances the performance of online advertising, e-commerce and online publishing," the company said.

Customers include McGraw-Hill, Harvard Business School Publishing and Cambridge University Press.

The company will use the funds to expand its staff and begin targeting large brands and leading advertising agencies.
