London - News Corp.'s (NYSE: NWS) MySpace is among the sponsors putting up $2 million to fund production of a feature-length film, "Faintheart," which was chosen among MySpace submissions, and for which MySpace users are providing input on choices such as the director, cast, soundtrack and marketing initiatives, Reuters reported.

Director Vito Rocco's script was chosen from over 800 submissions.

"Faintheart" producer Peter Carlton told Reuters the film is a romantic comedy set in the world of battle re-enactments, with a "lovely Viking twist."

Through MySpace's MyMovie MashUp program, ten MySpace users were chosen for smaller roles in the film, based on video audition submissions, and users will also help choose bands to appear in the film and on the soundtrack.

"Anyone who loves movies and interactivity will be fascinated to get involved in this pioneering film," Rocco, who began shooting the film last week, told Reuters.
