Los Angeles - Fluid Media Networks, a provider of artist discovery and music distribution services, announced on Thursday that it has acquired Trusonic, a provider of in-store music distribution for businesses.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Los Angeles-based Fluid Media operates American Idol Underground, an online community where emerging artists can post their songs, which are then rated by users, with top-rated artists receiving cash, equipment and other awards.

La Jolla, Calif.-based Trusonic provides its in-store music broadcasting service, which features over 1.5 million emerging artist tracks, to partners including Guitar Center, PETCO and Cracker Barrel.

"With a combined library of over 2 million artist tracks, 20 million monthly listeners and 80 million monthly song plays, Fluid Media Networks is now the single largest broadcaster of emerging artists music programming," said Fluid CEO Justin Beckett.

"We are building a network designed to maximize opportunities for emerging artists to get their music heard and our acquisition of Trusonic provides a fantastic distribution platform for emerging artists to be showcased in retail stores and businesses worldwide."
