Fox Ends Year-Long Ban of Universal's Music in Movies, TV Shows

New York - News Corp. (NYSE: NWS) has reportedly lifted a moratorium on the use of Universal Music Group (NYSE: GE) artists in Fox TV shows and movies, ending a year-long ban that was instituted shortly after Universal sued News Corp.'s MySpace for copyright infringement, The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday.

However, Universal's lawsuit against MySpace is still pending, and sources close to both companies told The Journal that News Corp.'s lifting of the ban on Universal's music "doesn't necessarily pave the way to a settlement of the lawsuit.
