Seattle - Hidden City Games, distributor of the Bella Sara trading card game for girls and complementary online world, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $15 million in new financing, from Rustic Canyon Partners and Trinity Ventures.

Seattle-based Hidden City Games' chief executive, Peter Akdison, also founded Wizards of the Coast, which published trading card games including Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering.

The horse-themed Bella Sara game, which is quite popular in Scandinavia where it was created, has to date sold more than 30 million trading cards worldwide.

The game's website counts over 1 million registered users.

The funds will be used to expand the Bella Sara website, as well as for marketing and new product development.
