New York - Makeover Solutions, a New York-based provider of online "beauty communities" for women, on Tuesday announced that it has raised $7 million in a round of venture capital led by Village Ventures Fund, Rho Canada and Borealis Ventures.

Makeover Solutions is essentially a marketing company that uses Internet technology to build highly targeted communities of women users who are "interested in beauty and beauty care conversations."

The company builds sites for commercial clients, as well as producing its own "direct to consumer" communities.
