Dulles, Va. - Building on the recent launch of its Platform-A online advertising unit, AOL (NYSE: TW) said on Wednesday that it will acquire New York-based Quigo, a provider of targeted ad services.

Financial terms of the deal -- the company's fourth this year in the advertising space -- were not disclosed.

Quigo's technology lets advertisers purchase ads on sites based on specific pages, sections, topics or keywords.

"With Quigo, we are putting the final pieces of Platform-A in place," said Randy Falco, the chairman and CEO of AOL.

"By offering advertisers the ability to target ads based on the content of web pages… we will be able to maximize the value of publishers' ad inventory."

Founded in 2000, Quigo has more than 500 publisher relationships, including a recently finalized deal with Time Inc., as well as a network of roughly 3,000 advertisers.

Earlier this year, AOL acquired ad firms Third Screen Media, ADTECH and Tacoda, leading to September's creation of Platform-A.
