Paris - Believe, a France-based digital music service, has received a $2.9 million first round of venture capital financing, from XAnge Private Equity, Billboard reported.

Founded in 2005, Believe provides services including distribution, promotions and marketing, and management and career development advice.

The company has sold more than 5 million tracks to date.

Believe will use the funds for international expansion and for the development of interactive digital marketing tools.
