New York - Blockbuster (NYSE: BBI) CEO Jim Keyes has announced that the company plans to experiment with pricing and layouts in its stores, including adding book sales and kiosks for downloading entertainment onto portable media devices, Reuters reported.

"I get excited about what we could do with what is some of the most choice real estate," Keyes said at a company analyst day in New York.

The kiosks could also be placed in public locations like airports or shopping malls.

"We believe we're going to very aggressively by (the first quarter) ... have these prototypes in place ... and learn how customers perceive our stores differently," Keyes added.

The company is also considering merging its online DVD rental service with the Movielink download service it recently acquired, as well as partnerships with telecom and cable TV providers, Reuters reported.
