AOL Acquires Yedda

New York - Time Warner's (NYSE: TW) AOL announced on Monday that it has acquired Yedda, an online question-and-answer social search service. Founded in 2006, Israel-based Yedda has developed technology that automatically matches questions to other related questions and topics, while selecting the best available users from relevant Internet communities to answer the questions posed.

AOL said it will incorporate Yedda's functionality into select programming areas on AOL.com and further integrate

"Questions & Answers" into its properties in the coming months. "Incorporating Yedda's unique technology into AOL enables us to bring together our traditional search resources and an entire community of people to help users quickly find answers to questions," said AOL president and COO Ron Grant.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
